Michael Dougherty
Project Manager
Michael graduated from the Savannah College of art and Design in 2004 with professional Bachelor and Masters degrees in Architecture, he also minored in Historic Preservation and Electronic Design focused on 3D design. While at SCAD Michael spent a semester at their campus in Lacoste, Provonce France studying architecture. Prior to studying architecture, he attended the University of Iowa for 3 years studying Art and Liberal Arts.
Michael began interning while in school on summer and winter breaks for Architecture Firms in Northern Illinois where he grew up. Upon graduation he joined RMT Architects in Vail Colorado where he worked on high-end multi-million dollar homes and resorts across the U.S. He has also worked for firms in Minneapolis as a lead designer and Naples Florida working on high-end homes.
In 2013, Michael joined the team and began working for Eric Hedlund Design LLC as a Project Manager. When in 2016 he returned to Illinois working with a firm as designer of a 57,000 square foot Assisted Living Facility. In November 2018 Michael returned to Eric Hedlund Design LLC, because let’s face it Coeur d’Alene is the place to be.
Having lived and worked in so many places, Michael has done projects in many styles and prides himself on delivering what his clients are looking for in scope, scale, style, and budget. Other projects he has worked on include Heath care, Banking, Restaurants, Religious, and Senior Living.
A Master Jedi of Architecture. In his free time he is an outdoor enthusiast. A former ski and snowboard instructor. Master wilderness guide, Photographer, Artist, and Musician. His adventures have taken him from a Wildlife Researcher in Patagonia Chile, Lead Wilderness Guide in the Boundary Waters of Minnesota and Quetico Canada, and Vermont where he has led trips from 3-10 days. So if you can’t find him in the office we all cross our fingers he is in cell range!
